Dubček, Alexander
► (1921-92) Político checoslovaco. Propugnó un socialismo de apertura a Occidente en el llamado Manifiesto de las dos mil palabras. Esta etapa, conocida como Primavera de Praga , terminó con la invasión soviética de agosto de 1968.

Político checoslovaco. En la segunda guerra mundial participó en la resistencia clandestina contra la ocupación nazi. Después de la guerra, ascendió dentro del Partido Comunista hasta llegar a integrar el Presidium del comité central (1962). En 1968 forzó la renuncia de Antonín Novotny (n. 1904–m. 1975) y lo reemplazó en la jefatura del partido. Introdujo reformas liberales en el breve período conocido como la primavera de Praga, que llegó a su fin cuando la Unión Soviética invadió Checoslovaquia en agosto de 1968. Degradado a cargos menores, fue expulsado del partido en 1970. Recuperó su importancia política en 1989 después de que el Partido Comunista perdió el monopolio del poder, y fue elegido presidente del Parlamento checo.
